Chase Cycle
Chase Cycle
Dance, acoustic sculptures, drawings
2025
Sometimes the cartoon predator chases the cartoon prey for so long that the smoke billows and we lose track: who's chasing who? We pursue and work jobs in order to survive, and fantasize about leaving them due to their vampiric nature. We desire to connect meaningfully with others, and avoid the discomfort of vulnerability. A squeaky dance experiment, Chase Cycle embodies the cartoonish reality of living a loop of desire and avoidance. Performed by Frances Owoh, Shalayah Kinder, Madeline Shuron, and Daisy DeLucia.
Chase Cycle was presented at Miniball, part of the Fringe Festival at FringeArts in Philadelphia. It was made possible by a Dean's Support Research Grant at Tyler School of Art and Architecture
